This is the 11.5 inch, pattern 9421 plate from George Davidson & Co in their amber Cloud Glass range. 

It's made from pressed glass. Cloud glass refers to the ethereal, swirling patterns produced by mixing streaks of darker glass to a lighter colour before production. The technique was invented by George Davidson and was also used by other makers, such as Jobling, Sowerby, Brockwitz and Walther & Sohne.

George Davidson's Cloud Glass came in a range of colours. Amber was the most popular and was made between 1928 and 1957. Production was reduced during the Second World War and resumed afterwards in a smaller range.

Who made it and when?

There's no maker's mark, but George Davidson glass is well documented.  This is the pattern 9421 plate, available in four sizes: 5.5, 8, 11.5 and 17 inches. It was probably made during the 1930s.
