What's for sale?
This is a tall and elegant, beautifully-decorated, handblown and hand-painted glass jug or pitcher, made by the German, glass maker Paul Nagel GmbH & Co.
On the body is a pattern of wheat, which has been engraved and infilled with a gold colour. Above the engraving is a banded, crosshatch pattern of dots and lines in white enamel, with the top and bottom rows of dots picked out in gold. On the foot is a narrow repeat of the crosshatch design.
The decoration has been completed with gold-coloured trim at various points and the result is a tactile finish that can be felt as well as seen.
