What's for sale?
This is a charming pair of early photographic portraits, signed by the photographer and mounted in good quality carved wooden frames.
We think the subjects are a French wife and husband, with the husband in dress uniform complete with epaulettes. We think he's a policeman and their dress, particularly the lady's, is early 20th century, around the time of the Edwardian period in Britain.
These are good quality portraits which would probably have been an important and costly purchase for the couple. We really like them, the photographs and the frames, and apart from cleaning them up and adding the picture cord, we've left them as we found them.
What condition are they in?
- Second-hand
- In fair condition
- The frames are intact and the glass is undamaged
- The finish of the frames is chipped and worn thin in many places
